Sphere Entertainment Co. has recently announced its exciting new ventures into immersive storytelling with the development of two original productions: The Wizard of Oz at Sphere and From the Edge. Scheduled to debut on August 28, 2025, The Wizard of Oz at Sphere promises a fresh take on the beloved 1939 movie classic. This cutting-edge show will blend old memories with new ideas, bringing a new perspective to the cherished story. In collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery, Google, and immersive tech firm Magnopus, the production aims to give the film a modern makeover while staying true to its core essence.
With a runtime reduced to 80 minutes, the show will run multiple times daily, offering viewers an immersive experience like never before. Featuring state-of-the-art technology such as ultra-HD visuals, 3D sound, and motion seats, the production aims to make iconic scenes like the tornado sequence feel incredibly lifelike.

Set to premiere in 2026, From the Edge is a heart-pounding exploration of extreme sports directed by Oscar-winning duo E. Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin, renowned for their work on Free Solo. The film will showcase five top athletes in disciplines such as free diving, skiing, rock climbing, BASE jumping, and surfing.
