Dutch Online Gambling Association Announces Departure of Acting Director
The Dutch Online Gambling Association (NOGA), a prominent trade association for gambling providers in the Netherlands, has recently revealed that its acting director, Eric Konings, will be stepping down from his role.
Konings’ Contribution and Departure
Eric Konings, who has been serving as the interim director since July 1, will not be renewing his term with the association, as per NOGA’s official announcement. Konings initially joined NOGA in 2018 as the chairman and later transitioned to a part-time position as a policy advisor. In 2024, he took on the role of director on a temporary basis, replacing the previous director, Peter-Paul de Goeij.
Prior to his involvement with NOGA, Konings held various positions in the industry, including vice chair of the N.V. RBC Roosendaal soccer club and founder of Rosendale Business Consultancy, where he offered strategic advice in gaming, sports, marketing, and CSR/sustainability. He also had a significant tenure with the Kindred Group, one of the leading international gambling companies, where he served as a sports betting integrity officer.
Future Plans and Successor Search
With Konings’ departure, NOGA’s board is currently in the process of evaluating its future direction and searching for a suitable successor to fill the position of director.
Regarding his exit, Konings expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to lead NOGA and mentioned that he was proud of the progress made during his tenure. He highlighted the strategic reorientation of the company as one of his key accomplishments.
